What is Changing in Federal Health Insurance Regulation for 2020
The annual Notice of Benefit and Payment Parameters from the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) sets key rules for the commercial health insurance market. This year, federal regulators are unusually late in publishing it, so health insurers may need to scramble to finalize their health plan designs for 2020. (The notice is typically published in February or early March, but was released on April 18 this year.)
Just days after the notice’s release, health insurance experts at Manatt Health and Milliman will discuss key aspects of the rule in an interactive webinar that will be invaluable for health plan lawyers, actuaries and product teams, and anyone else interested in health insurance law and policy.
Topics will include:
- Federal premium subsidies
- Risk adjustment data validation
- HHS’s future plans for “silver loading” and auto enrollment
- Prescription drug coverage, including out-of-pocket limits and manufacturer copay assistance
