UAE Cabinet Approves long term visa system

The decision of the United Arab Emirates Cabinet follows the previous decision published earlier to provide and grant a ten year residency Visa as well as an Investor Visa that reaches up to Ten years for the following characters:

  • Specialized Specialists in Medical

  • Specialized Specialists in Research
  • Specialized Specialists in the Technical fields​​​​​​​

The Long Term Visa that can be granted to the characters above will be covering their Spouses and Children as well. Isn’t it fabulous?! The decision aims to maintain the position of the United Arab Emirates as an optimal business environment and encourage investment environment for the growth of business for investors, entrepreneurs and professional talents.

The Decision for Granting Investors the Long Term Visa in the United Arab Emirates defines two main categories for Investors:

A. Investors who have or will invest in a property value of Five Million Dirhams or More.

That simply means that if you have a Free Hold property that values Five Million Dirhams, or will invest in a Free Hold Property that values Five Million Dirhams or more in the United Arab Emirates will be granted an Investor Visa for Five Years.

B. Investors in Public Investments through a deposit, Established Company or Business Partnership of not less than AED 10,000,000 (Ten Million Dirhams).

Those are the Investors who are investing at least Ten Million Dirhams through the channels mentioned above as long as non-real estate investments are not less than 60% of the total investment.

Some Conditions for both categories are adopted by the Cabinet Decision as follows:

  • The amount Invested through any of the listed channels should be fully owned by the Investor without any involvement of third parties, meanwhile, it should be proven and documented.
  • Investment deposits should be kept for a minimum period of three years.​​​​​​​
