Three new partners at Lubis Ganie Surowidjojo

Lubis Ganie Surowidjojo is pleased to announce that Dini Retnoningsih, Mochamad Fajar Syamsualdi and Ahmad Jamal Assegaf have become the 7th, 8th and 9th partners of the Firm on 1 September 2014.

 

Ms. Dini Retnoningsih has been employed by the Firm since 2005. She graduated cum laude from Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia after just 3.5 years of college study. Major clients include JP Morgan Securities, Goldman Sachs, Renaissance Capital Asia, Bussan Auto Finance, PT Sampoerna Strategic, Mitsui & Co. Ltd, PT Mitsui Indonesia and PT Mercedes Benz Indonesia. She has been involved in numerous major corporate transactions, including the acquisition of PT Dipasena Citra Darmaja by Renaissance Capital Asia in 2005, acquisition of PT Buana Anggana Mandura by PT Sampoerna Strategic in 2006, Goldman Sachs in the refinancing of PT Adaro Indonesia in 2007 and PT Unilever Indonesia in the asset acquisition of PT Ultrajaya Milk Industry & Trading Company Tbk in 2008. In addition, she regularly provides a day-to-day legal advice to numerous clients of the Firm, such as, Bussan Auto Finance, Putera Sampoerna Foundation, Mitsui & Co. Ltd, PT Mitsui Indonesia, and PT TVS Motor Company Indonesia. Ms. Retnoningsih speaks Indonesian and English.

 

Mr. Mochamad Fajar Syamsualdi graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia in 2005. He has been active in several M&A transactions, including the sale of 72% shares in Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional to TPG Nusantara in March 2008, conditioned on the bank’s eventual IPO and advised the shareholders of Arianne Investments Mezzanine, including Noonday, Kerry Coal, Goldman Sachs and Citigroup Financial Products, on the sale of shares in Arianne to Adaro Indonesia Group in Adaro’s restructuring. He advised international banks and companies such as DBS Bank, Standard Chartered, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Goldman Sachs Credit Partners in various lending and restructuring transactions. Major previous clients are Noonday, Goldman Sachs, Kerry Coal, Unilever, Trakindo, Recapital Advisors and Astra International. He specializes in M&A, banking, mining and capital markets law. Mr. Syamsualdi speaks Indonesian and English.

 

Mr. Ahmad Jamal Assegaf specializes in restructuring, investment, M&A, and telecommunication. He holds a  bachelor degree at law from Faculty of Law, University of Trisakti. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Assegaf has worked in other prominent law firms in Jakarta. With LGS, he has been representing international banks and companies such as DBS Bank, Standard Chartered, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and others in numerous loan transaction refinancing projects of Adaro Group, which includes the refinancing of PT Adaro Indonesia; Orchard Maritime Pte. Ltd; PT Sapta Indra Sejati; PT Triputra Investindo Arya and PT Trinugraha Thohir. Recently, he has also been involved in the acquisition of a shipping company by Inchcape Shipping Services Groups (one of the world’s leading marine services provider).  In addition, he also provides legal advice to numerous clients of the Firm, such as PT Frisian Flag Indonesia, PT Kievit Indonesia, PT Simpson Spence and Young Indonesia, and PT Mutiara Bintan Discovery. Mr. Assegaf holds a license as an advocate from Peradi and speaks Indonesian and English.
