The First Afghan Law on Cyber Crimes Endorsed

For the first time in its legislative history, Afghanistan has passed Law on Cyber Crimes. The President of Afghanistan endorses the said law. Numbers of Internet users are significantly growing on daily basis however, there was no law in existence to regulate and clarify effective use of Internet in Afghanistan. This gap provided people the ground to use Internet for negative purposes, which includes but not limited to promotion of violence, publication against national interests and personal attacks on individuals. This new law consists of 27 articles, which mainly focus on information security, provision of a safe cyber environment, avoidance of cyber attacks and cyber crimes, identification of cybercrimes and its prosecution.
