Southworth Addresses Legalized Marijuana and Workplace Issues in Live Workshop

April 2017 (Pittsburgh, PA) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – James W. Southworth, a Principal of Dickie, McCamey & Chilcote, P.C. (DMC), will participate in a live online workshop on Thursday, April 20, 2017. The workshop is sponsored by JazzHR, a recruiting software company. Mr. Southworth’s presentation, entitled “Navigating Medical Marijuana in the Workplace,” addresses the new laws and regulations of legalized medical and adult-use recreational marijuana.

Mr. Southworth will be joined by Cheryl Bean from Compass Resources while speaking to human resource professionals on the following issues of concern: navigating new rules in a marijuana-friendly state; updating your employee handbooks with appropriate HR policies; how to keep up-to-date and informed as changes arise.

Mr. Southworth concentrates his practice in the areas of employment and labor law. He has provided advice and counsel on virtually all employment-related concerns, from hiring procedures to termination and severance issues. He speaks regularly to audiences of all sizes and compositions on a variety of workplace topics, and assists clients with in-house training for management staff.
He earned his J.D. from University of Pittsburgh School of Law School.
