PUBLIC INCENTIVES TO RENEWABLE ENERGY INVESTMENTS IN ITALY

Italy allocates financial resources to be awarded as Public incentives for the setting up of up to 8.000 MW of renewable energy infrastructures in Italy.

The long-time awaited Ministerial Decree of July 4, 2019 (the so-called FER 1) has finally been enacted in Italy.

Thanks to the aforementioned Ministerial Decree, Italy has allocated financial resources to be awarded as Public incentives for the setting up of up to 8.000 MW of renewable energy infrastructures in Italy to be obtained by investors who will create such infrastructures.

The awarding of the Public incentives shall be managed through two kinds of different procedures: (i) public tenders for renewable energy plants having a power peak up to 1 MW; (ii) public auctions for renewable energy plants having a power peak from 1 MW up.

The above-mentioned procedures shall have the following schedule:
