Michael W. Dotts is originally from California. In San Francisco Michael practiced with a large law firm that focused on representing management in labor relations. He originally came to Saipan to assist a sole practitioner involved in securities litigation in 1988, and then became involved in litigation in several cases in the Republic of Palau. In 1993, Michael joined Robert O’Connor to form O’Connor & Dotts that is today O’Connor Berman Dotts & Banes. In 2005, to assist plaintiffs in mass tort litigation involving a drug manufacturer, Michael became licensed in Hawaii. Today, Michael lives and practices full time on Saipan.
Michael has handled a wide variety of cases, including complex bankruptcies and class actions. He tries to focus his practice on employment law matters and on behalf of employers was successful in defeating eight different union election campaigns in Saipan and Guam. He has also litigated against the EEOC and the Department of Labor in Federal Court as well as handled numerous investigations and matters at the administrative level for employers.
