Each year, NJICLE’s comprehensive Immigration Conference provides an in-depth exploration of the most pressing concerns confronted by Immigration Law Attorneys, Employment Lawyers, Human Resource Representatives and In-House Counsel and offers effective strategies for dealing with those concerns.

This Conference presents a rare opportunity to hear directly from heads of the governmental agencies who directly affect immigration/labor policy and procedure.

This year we will be reviewing the new Administrations first 90 days and how it will shape America’s immigration policy going forward.

We will be addressing:

  • The Administrations Executive Orders;
  • Comprehensive Immigration Reform by a Republican controlled Congress;
  • The new Administration’s termination of existing parole policies, guidance, and programs that allow foreign nationals to work in the U.S.;
  • ICEs new policies and procedures;
  • Suspension of the Premium Processing Program  for H-1B;
  • EAD for spouses of H’s who have been abused;
  • New Forms and fees;
  • AC-21;
  • Possible suspension of the additional two (2) years of optional practical training for STEM students;
  • Anticipated reversal of the prior action allowing spouses of H1B workers in certain instances to receive employment authorization cards;
  • Proposed regulatory changes to the H1B program;
  • Increased monitoring of foreign students and reform of practical training programs for foreign students to “prevent the disadvantaging of U.S. students in the workforce”;
  • Expansion of the site-visit program to cover all employment-based visa programs;
  • Changing the immigration laws to move towards a merit based system;
  • Clarification of what activity is and is not permissible by individuals who enter on business/tourist visas;
