Midsize Cleveland law firm McCarthy, Lebit, Crystal & Liffman has named new leadership this year in new managing principal Robert Glickman.

Glickman assumed the title at the first of the year. He succeeds Kenneth Liffman, who held the role for 25 years. Liffman is now chairman of the board but remains a principal at the firm and is working his practice in transaction, banking matters and real estate law, according to the firm.

“Rob is an enormously successful attorney, businessman and a fine leader,” said Liffman in a statement. “Thanks to his strong management and his unwavering commitment to client service, his transition to managing principal feels very evolutionary.”

Liffman is credited with adding more than 30 attorneys and 20 practice areas during his leadership of the firm. According to Crain‘s research, the firm counts 41 attorneys in its Northeast Ohio homestead. It’s the 21st largest law firm in this market.

“It’s rare in today’s legal industry for a managing partner to lead a firm for as long as Ken has led McCarthy, Lebit,” said Glickman, co-head of the litigation practice, in a statement. “But for those of us who have been fortunate enough to work alongside Ken, his time in this position should come as no surprise. We are indebted to Ken for the contributions he has made to the firm’s success and all of our careers. I’m honored to take on the monumental task of following in his footsteps, and will work as hard as possible to live up to the example set by leaders like Ken and Dan McCarthy, but it may not be able to match Ken’s success.”

Glickman will maintain his practice leadership roles in addition to managing day-to-day operations of the firm. His trial practice focuses on white collar crime, employment issues, intellectual property litigation and professional negligence.

Glickman earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina and his law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Glickman lives in Orange Village with his wife, Linda, and two daughters.
