Law on Protection of Inventor and Discoverer Rights Enacted

The Law on Protection of Inventor and Discoverer Rights is designed to encourage inventors to disclose their new technology to the world by offering the incentive of a limited-time monopoly on the technology. This law regulates and determines material and moral privileges of inventors and discoverers. This law is enacted as per the Presidential Decree No. 205 dated 25 Feb 2017 and pursuant to Articles 64 and 94 of the Constitution of Afghanistan and is published in the Official Gazette No. 1258, dated 10/5/2017.
