IR Global, the world’s largest exclusive network of advisory firms is delighted to introduce Patrick J. McHugh of the Law Offices Of Patrick Mchugh. Patrick has joined IR as our exclusive Commercial Litigation Member in Connecticut.
“The Law Offices of Patrick McHugh works with clients to resolve business-to-business legal disputes in — or on the brink of — complex commercial litigation in state and federal court.
Admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut, Mr. McHugh is also admitted in the federal courts for the Southern District of New York (comprising the City of New York and counties north, including Westchester), the Eastern District of New York (comprising the City of New York and counties east, including Long Island) and the District of Connecticut (comprising the entire state). Patrick McHugh’s experience includes jury and non-jury trials through appeal, including arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. With offices in Southport, Connecticut, Mr. McHugh has ready access to all seats of court within the greater New York metropolitan area and all of Connecticut. He maintains access to facilities in Manhattan, New Haven, Hartford and Boston to accommodate local client needs for meetings, consultations and interviews, as well as deposition and other discovery demands warranted by the case.
Business disputes often include national and international related proceedings. In such circumstances, Mr. McHugh finds that utilizing local counsel and pro hac admissions facilitates client needs with efficiency across the United States. He has represented international client interests through Hague Convention protocols in the United Kingdom, the Caribbean, Canada and the Netherlands.
Business disputes typically involve damages arising from a combination of broken agreements (breach of contract) and/or wrongful conduct (tortious interference, unfair trade practices and misrepresentations). With client consent, Mr. McHugh employs legal team additions to address the changing needs of a case, from patent and anti-trust issues to white collar government investigations, forensic accounting and economic damage analysis.
Whether in the context of minority limited liability company (LLC) interests, shareholder rights, fiduciary duties, indemnities, misconduct by misappropriation or misrepresentation, confusion in the market violating federal Lanham Act protections and related state statutes, Patrick McHugh works with clients to advise and recommend, thereby allowing informed decision making in the best interests of the client and the client’s business.”
