Employment Update: Transdev Ireland Limited v Michael Caplis

This article considers a recent judgment by the High Court dismissing an appeal on a point of law by the employer, Transdev Ireland Limited, against the decision of the Labour Court. The Labour Court found that the dismissal of a Luas tram driver for moonlighting as a taxi driver was a disproportionate response to a breach of the employer’s policy against double-jobbing.
