2020 overview from Paul Beare
There probably hasn’t been a year like 2020 for half a century. A global pandemic followed by a global economic slowdown wasn’t in any predictions at the beginning of the year. So here we are.
And while it’s easy to focus on the big picture stuff, I think it’s worth remembering the smaller, day to day effects of the last 9 months. Like everyone else, we’ve struggled at times this year. Our team hasn’t been able to get together as we might normally have, and we’ve really missed being able to meet up and spend quality time with our clients. As a firm, we have grown over the last 7months, including taking on a new addition to the team. I am supported by a fantastic dynamic of personalities who enjoy the work that they do; and that makes me very proud. I would like to praise them for their support during these last few months.
Technology’s great, and we’ve certainly managed to keep all the plates spinning thanks to Zoom calls and the rest, but there’s no substitute for time spent together face to face. So if there’s one thing we’re looking forward to most in 2021, it’s the chance to meet people again, at home and at work.
Now, as 2020 reaches its end, we’re starting to plan for the year ahead. So what can we expect of 2021?
We know from experience what it takes to set up in the UK. Some clients return to us, where they move on from one company to the next, and seek to utilise our setup and support services to ensure their UK setup is as smooth as possible. We have built up an extensive network over the years – so if you don’t see something that you think we might be able to support you with, just ask – and we’ll try to assist you.
