Nchito & Nchito is a full-service law firm based in Lusaka, the capital city of Zambia. The Firm aims to deliver superior legal solutions to its clients. It was formerly part of MNB Legal Practitioners (a Firm formed in 1999 through an amalgamation of three Law Firms that existed previously) and acquired its current name on 1st October, 2011 when MNB restructured and the Lusaka and Kitwe offices became separate Firms.
The Firm advises on and services clients in all aspects of Corporate and Commercial Law and has a large local, regional and international client base.
The Firm is engaged in providing services in diverse areas of the law covering commercial transactions, civil litigation - including debt collection and enforcement of securities, insolvency, company secretarial work, arbitration, perfection of banking securities, corporate finance and related work and Conveyancing. The major focus of the Firm’s litigation is Commercial and Employment related litigation.
The Firm also has experience in corporate restructuring having been involved in assignments involving corporate restructuring of former parastatals.
The Firm acted for a mobile phone service provider in the setting up of its mobile money business.
The Firm has acted as lead Counsel for the Floatation by Zambia Privatisation Trust Fund of their 25% holding in one of the largest oil marketing companies in the country.
The Firm also acted as lead counsel in the mandatory offer by Puma Energy to acquire shares from the minority shareholders of BP Zambia Plc.
The Firm has developed competence in the area of corporate governance and was represented on the Task Force which prepared the Zambian Corporate Governance guidelines.
The Firm also provided expertise on a project to harmonise Zambian corporate and commercial legislation with good corporate governance principles.
The Firm has over the years been retained in huge commercial litigation and arbitrations on behalf of its clients some of whom are listed below. In resolving disputes, the Firm ensures that its clients receive advice that is relevant to their needs in a timely fashion.

Show more +The Firm’s Principal is Nchima Nchito, State Counsel, who is buttressed by a team of four qualified and experienced Associates and fifteen support staff four of whom possess Law Degrees from various Universities.
Nchima Nchito is a senior legal practitioner enjoying the rank and dignity of State Counsel. He was admitted to the Zambian Bar in 1987 and is an experienced Advocate who holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Zambia. He has extensive experience in corporate advisory, litigation generally including employment and commercial litigation, perfecting of bank securities as well as experience in dealing with local and international contract negotiations and agreements involving international financial and trading institutions. Nchima has specialised in all aspects of Corporate Law. He is an active member of the Institute of Directors and has been involved in the promotion of integrity among the professionals in the private and public sector. He has also provided expertise on a project to harmonise Zambian corporate and commercial legislation with good corporate governance principles.
Nchima previously served as Legal Counsel and Deputy Company Secretary in Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines (ZCCM)-the former mining conglomerate and he was the lead Counsel in the listing of ZCCM shares on the Lusaka Stock Exchange. He is currently the Managing partner of Nchito & Nchito, a full service law firm in Zambia’s capital city, Lusaka.
