Vladan Simonovic of MEDIA DOO (ltd) represents CEDEM at meeting with MNE Prime Minister on more proactive approach to European integration

Podgorica, Montenegro (6 March 2020) — Prime Minister Duško Marković talked, within Alliance for Europe Initiative, with representatives of the Montenegrin Pan-European Union (CPEU) and the Centre for Democracy and Human Rights (CEDEM) on a number of important issues towards more proactive approach to the European integration process, boosting human rights and freedom and strengthening of the rule of law. The meetings paid special attention to youth policy issues. 
 
Representatives of the CPEU headed by prof. Gordana Đurović, gave full support to the Government on the path of the European integration and announced that they will continue to contribute through the organisation of various promotional and educational activities of citizens, especially young people, and the preparation of necessary analyses that can be used to a better negotiation platform in the current negotiation phase. The CPEU can make a special contribution through the promotion of Montenegro, within the International Pan-European Union, the oldest pan-European organisation based in Strasbourg, which brings together 28 countries committed to the fight for a better common future of Europe.
 
The meeting with CEDEM representatives, led by Chairman of the Board of Directors Vladan Simonović, discussed raising democratic standards, modernising public administration and improving relations between the Government and the NGO sector. Both sides also discussed CEDEM’s proposals for advancing the position of persons with disabilities and media freedoms.
