How do you do business when things are constantly in flux? It’s complicated.
It’s “C”omplicated! How do you do business when “C”ovid-19 dynamics are in a constant state of Flux?
2020 started on a positive note, you had your plans in place and right out of the gate you went to it. Then, at the end of January, we started hearing rumours about a virus coming out of China. What was it? Was it contained? Should we be worried?
Before we had the time to get the answers, February ended with a 360-degree turn and March has been no different. Every day, we hear of new developments (i.e. – some countries have closed up their borders, the stock market is down worldwide, supply chains are disturbed, and travel is being restricted).
Depending on where you live, you may have a different experience. If you are in Italy, you have to stay in place. In the US, various localities and states have declared a state of emergency and asking people to take more precautions (for example, more people are asked to work from home). In China, people are starting to go back to work but a lot of questions remain. The infection rate is down but will it remain so?
The changing dynamics of the Covid-19 situation may feel like quicksand for a lot of people. For our MedTech Industry, this is even more of an issue. We are in healthcare and our customers are often in the front lines of dealing with this “pandemic” (as declared by the World Health Organization).
So how do we continue to do business during a time when people are asked to stay home, medical congresses are being cancelled, and basic supplies are disrupted? Well, it’s “C”omplicated!
We had a team member travelling in Asia when this all took a turn for the worse. Obviously, he had to self-quarantine upon his return. Every day requires perseverance to get things done and patience. We are all in the same boat and talking to each other keeps relationships going strong. There will be understanding when some things will get delayed. It will take working together to get over this hurdle.
As members of the healthcare industry, we are responsible for helping to communicate and provide solutions whenever possible. As mentioned, your customers (Health Care workers) are on the front lines and they need our support now more than ever. As they are very seldomly mentioned in the news, let’s be sure to find time in our lives to thank them. And we salute all of you who are creating the supply chains to fight this battle! We are grateful for those of you trying to get supplies where they are needed the most as well as for those of you creating new solutions at work and in our communities. You are shining lights in the midst of this mess.
We appreciate all who are caring for others before caring for themselves. Keep up the great work thru these “C”-omplicated times! And, may God Bless you and may God Bless us all!
