Hristescu & Partners has launched a dedicated Sports and Media Law department to offer specialized legal advisory services to sports businesses and professionals, to media & entertainment industry and a full range of consulting services on intellectual property and image rights’ legal management.

The Sports and Media department will be headed by Roxana Giurea, who joined the team at the beginning of this year. Roxana is specialised in dispute resolution, particularly in business and sports law sectors. She has been providing insightful advice on contractual matters and representation in negotiations both in sports and business law, covering a large spectrum of counselling fields intrinsically related to the above (Sports & Media, IP & IT law, data protection, employment law).

Having an extensive national and international experience in the field of sports law, Roxana has been providing contractual advice and representing in disputes a wide range of sports celebrities, sports agents and some of the most well-known football clubs in Romania. Roxana has pleaded and offered assistance in a wide variety of disputes before national and international courts or jurisdictional bodies (Court of Arbitration for Sport, FIFA, Romanian Football Federation, Professional Football League, Romanian Handball Federation, Romanian Motorcycling Federation, French Handball Federation, European Handball Federation etc.).

Having published a handbook in commercial arbitration in 2012 (publishing house “Universul Juridic”, Bucharest), an international guide on arbitration in 2013 (ICLG London) and various articles in the field of sports law (the international specialized journal “Football Legal”), Roxana is constantly maintaining a close contact with the academic environment, being invited to lecture in several specialized courses and conferences.

Roxana holds a double LLM degree in Business Litigation and European and International Business Law from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, having the opportunity to receive a French Government scholarship to that purpose. She is a graduate of the University of Bucharest (2009) and of the French-Romanian College of Law Studies in Bucharest. In 2015, she followed an executive programme in ISDE Madrid – International Sports Law, graduated first in her class.
