Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg Trade Report

U.S. Customs and Border Protection states that as of June 21 all new and renewed international fisheries trade permits issued by the National Marine Fisheries Service will be in a new format. The current permit number format is 14 characters, beginning with the letter P and followed by 13 numbers. As of June 21 the permit number format for all new and renewed IFTPs will be 12 characters, beginning with the letters IFTP followed by eight numbers.

CBP states that once issued as a renewal or new permit number in the new format, the new number will be permanent and will not change with future renewals. All current IFTP numbers will remain valid in their current format as issued until the expiration date and will change to the new format when renewed.
