IR Global – Australasian Regional Meeting Held in Sydney
Daniel Baldovin, of Chapman Eastway Chartered Accountants offered their central Sydney premises for the meeting of 15 attendees, including 2 IR Global members from New Zealand. Chapman Eastway Partner, Sean Cortis, welcomed the group, and gave a brief profile of their firm
The group represented a broad range of services including; legal, accounting and IP, and members attended from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Newcastle ,Christchurch and Auckland being a significant effort given some of the distances members needed to travel.
Ross Koffel chaired the meeting and being a second meeting this next stage opened up discussion on successful marketing practices, and how the group could promote under the IR Global banner for Australia and New Zealand. The region presents blue sky opportunities for investment not only from Asia-Pacific but from European, and Americas based investors as well, with often a lack of knowledge of the region restricting consideration of Australia/New Zealand coming up on the radar of foreign investors. To this end the group will be considering marketing concepts for up-coming IR Global meetings, and look forward to working with the IR Global Management team to guide the project. As relatively “young countries” both Australia and New Zealand offer comparatively buoyant economies, a stable political environment, quality lifestyle and strong opportunities for start-up and investment.
It was resolved to have our next meeting of our regional members back in Melbourne towards the end of July with a date to be fixed. Without exception it is a proactive group, that is already developing the ties of trust and mutual support that are so important to professionals working together to a mutual aim.
Dinner was organised by the Chapman Eastway team at the recently developed area of Barangaroo, a 10 minute walk from their offices, at “12 Micron” in a private dining area, where we had a truly great evening.
