New ICO Guidelines in Switzerland
After an initial notification on 29 September 2017, which already improved the regulatory clarity on Tokens, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) has released brand-new ICO Guidelines on 16 February 2018.
These ICO Guidelines are an additional, positive step towards a liberal and, in the same time, predictable regulatory environment in Switzerland regarding ICOs and ITOs. The guidance on the applicable regulatory structuring of Tokens and on the application of regulatory legislation on the various categories of tokens (payment-, utility- and asset tokens) is highly welcome in a time where we rarely see any technology investment not applying Blockchain technology. Switzerland has established itself as a worldwide hub for ICOs and ITOs, and the brand-new ICO Guidelines enable founders, investors and professionals to further clarify the feasibility of new projects and, thus, increase the probability of realization of new initiatives.
Wicki Partners AG is more than glad to advise on all matters relating to ICO and ITO. The new ICO Guidelines can be downloaded here: https://www.finma.ch/en/~/media/finma/dokumente/dokumentencenter/myfinma/1bewilligung/fintech/wegleitung-ico.pdf?la=en
