Ross KoffelPrincipal, Koffels Solicitors & Barristers

Mowbray Public School is just one of the latest institutions effected where an arrest has been made today in the pursuit of Child Sexual Abuse perpetrators within the education system. Simon William Phillips, a teacher at Mowbray Public School  and previously at Scots College and St Joseph’s College,  has been arrested and will appear in Burwood Court. It is alleged he indecently assaulted 4 girls between the ages of 11 and 12 this year.

In a totally separate incident, a former Catholic Marist Brother from a Hillview Street, Eastwood institution has also been charged for an assault committed in 1967 to 1968,  and is to appear before the Court later this month.

Koffels Solicitors & Barristers are acting in dozens of cases relating to over 24 separate institutions where such crimes have been perpetrated, and are seeking any information that can lead to the successful claims of the victims we represent.

Typically victims can reach well into middle age or beyond before they can confront the injustices they have suffered, and the impact it has had on their entire lives. The stories are heart wrenching. Any statement or information received will be held in the strictest confidence, and may be  pivotal to the successful claims of those who have been so betrayed.
