Ross Koffel & Julia Koffel, of Koffels Solicitors & Barristers (Sydney), recently attended the Lowy Institute for International Policy 2017 Lowy Lecture, delivered by the Rt Hon Boris Johnson MP. As Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, he indicated in his speech, the enhanced sense of direction that the UK is taking towards a Free Trade Agreement with Australia.

Needless to say it was both an entertaining and informative discussion that foreshadowed a new growth in commercial investment in Australia, and it’s growing importance in global trade relations. As Brexit negotiations continue, Australia presents as a sanctuary for business to establish in a stable and strategic environment, amid the increased instability in other commercial centres. The opportunity for setup and growth in Australia is continuing to be a logical, and growing hunting ground for commercial investment.
