Adrián Vázquez is a partner with Vázquez Tercero & Zepeda in México, a highly sophisticated firm, which emphasizes in trade and customs law practice.
He was born in Mexico City in 1966 and is a law graduate from the UNAM in 1991. He has additional studies at the Instituto de Investigaciones Jurídicas of the UNAM and has devoted his professional career to international trade and customs law.
Adrian Vazquez advises and represents a number of national and multinational companies, as well as foreign governments in trade and customs issues, particularly on antidumping, subsidies, safeguards, origin of goods, import and export controls, as well as in the interpretation of trade agreements. Mr. Vazquez frequently appears before administrative agencies, the Federal Tax Court, Federal Courts of Appeals, Supreme Court of Justice and NAFTA Binational Panels. Additionally, he has advised foreign governments on dispute resolution matters in connection with WTO challenges.
Originally founded in 1967 as Foncerrada y Vázquez, the firm changed its name to Vázquez Tercero y Asociados in 1973, and for over thirty-five years was at the forefront of Economic Law and International Trade in Mexico, including active participation in Mexico’s insertion into GATT in 1986 and thereafter. Only after it incorporated its first office outside of Mexico City, in Guadalajara, did it become Vázquez Tercero & Zepeda in 2011. Vazquez Tercero & Zepeda continues to grow by incorporating own small offices in major industrial cities within Mexico in order to better attend clients’ needs.
For the past forty years, Vázquez Tercero & Zepeda has been an acknowledged leader in matters related to WTO, NAFTA, trade remedies, origin verification, customs, regulatory and trade-related tax planning and litigation.
