Joel Kaplan maintains a commercial real estate practice that focuses on complex acquisition, joint venture, finance and lease transactions. His clients include vertically integrated real estate investment firms, investors and developers. Joel has particular expertise in the acquisition, financing, development and sale of multifamily residential and mixed-use projects. His real estate finance practice includes joint ventures, preferred equity, mezzanine debt and other structured finance transactions. Joel has represented both sponsors and real estate funds in crafting joint venture relationships. He has also helped real estate owners and developers syndicate the ownership of their projects to investors. He regularly provides local counsel services to institutional investors for their projects in the Pacific Northwest.
