It is another significant arrival boosting Magnusson’s dispute resolution practice group. In March 2015, Magnusson welcomed Paulo Fohlin, a partner resident of Hong Kong with more than 25 years of experience as a court litigator and arbitration counsel, who joined as the Head of International Arbitration.
International arbitration is a very important area for Magnusson and we are delighted to welcome on board such a high profile player as Christer Söderlund. Christer’s practice has a truly global breadth and this creates a unique synergy with our international reach, including Russia and CIS capabilities and the energy practice. We are excited to explore new opportunities together with Christer, states Senior Partner Per Magnusson.
After four decades at Vinge, as partner and in recent years as senior counsel, I very much look forward to continuing my arbitration practice under the auspices of Magnusson. In addition to continuing the arbitral practice, I will actively involve myself in the continued development and future enlargement of Magnusson’s arbitration practice group, comments Christer Söderlund.
I am truly delighted both to have such an arbitral statesman as Christer aboard our team and to be able to work with him again after so many years together at our previous firm, says Paulo Fohlin.
Christer Söderlund is a renowned and respected practitioner within international arbitration. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the SCC Arbitration Institute (2007-2009) and was appointed by the Swedish Government to the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators in 2006.
He is included on the Panels of Arbitrators of several arbitration institutes, including the International Commercial Arbitration Court, Moscow, Cairo Regional Center for International Commercial Arbitration, the Kazakhstani International Arbitrage, the Beijing Arbitration Commission, the Polish Chamber of Commerce and the ICDR Energy Arbitrators List.
Chambers Global 2015 lists Christer Söderlund among “Most in Demand Arbitrators” in two categories: Europe-wide Arbitration (International) and Sweden Dispute Resolution. He is also ranked as a foreign expert in the field of Dispute Resolution in Russia.
