Malta Budget Highlights 2016 – Spiteri Bailey
On 12th October 2015, the Minister for Finance delivered the Government’s Budget to Parliament which reviewed Malta’s economic performance, forecasted future economic viability and detailed several taxation changes. In his introductory speech, the Minister of Finance expressed satisfaction with the Government’s performance during 2014. Speaking to the House of Representatives, the Minister of Finance summarized the budget’s main objective as consolidating economic growth through sound public finances, investment, fiscal incentives, new job creation, education and support to specific segments of the society. The Minister for Finance declared that the Budget 2016 is aimed to eliminate the deficit that Malta currently has thus nurturing economic growth recorded in the past years.
