The British Government at Milan Expo 2015

The Expo theme is food. This firm has offices in Milan, Parma, Rome, and Bari, so covers some of the key heartlands of Italian food. In December 2014 Senior Partner Julia Holden spoke at the INTA on the Overlap between trademarks and geographical indications in Munich. She looked at cases such as Parma Ham v Asda Superstores, where government and national attitudes to food production is reflected in the court judgements.  The Head of the Parma Office, partner Daniela Ampollini, spoke on plant variations and food law in June 2014, to il Sole 24 Ore Business School and the San Francisco School of Law.

The UK government are interested in boosting their exports, and have a strategic plan. Business will be conducted in 5 areas: food and drink, sustainability, agri tech, creative industries and health care. The great weeks will offer some formal structure, but also a lot of time to network. They have named their effort, ‘Grown in Britain.’

  • The main Conference on the issues faced by British food and drink producers. Speakers from, eg:

    Coca Cola GB & Ireland,
    the London Food Board.
  • There will be an informal reception for networking that evening with a top British chef.

Wednesday May 6th , Day 3

  • International buyers meet UK exporters
  • Meet the buyer matching services
  • Invitation only UKTI roundtable discussion and lunch, with delicious lunch by international chef Ken Hom.
