Ferriani e Jamal Sociedade de Advogados, founded in 1996, is a boutique firm that assists its clients in several practice areas, including: real estate, commercial law, civil law, banking and finance; as well as labour and employment law. The team is comprised of seven partners, 15 lawyers and 20 support members and paralegals.

Eduardo Fornazari Alencar, a partner at the firm, heads this department, which is highly demanded by national and international companies. The team is readily prepared to handle all kind of consultancy and contentious cases in the country, and has helped international companies with their Brazilian operations.

Its client base consists of international corporations and leading Brazilian conglomerates, including banks, insurance companies, distributors, investment funds, mining companies, green-energy, and oil and gas corporations. It has represented high-profile clients, including Fortune Global 500 companies, regarding a high volume of labour and employment law-related matters. Mr Fornazari regularly advises a wide range of corporations, large and small, on labour and employment-related issues. He is a skilled negotiator, recognised by employers and unions, and has extensive experience in resolving labour matters. He works in special and strategic cases related to labour and employment litigation for leading companies. Mr Fornazari also advises management on employment law compliance and risk reduction.

Further, he was manager of the Labour Legal Department and headed the Human Resources and Labour Relations Department at Banco Mercantil de São Paulo from 1987 to 2000. He was also a member of Labour Legal Commission from 1996 to 1999, and of the Human Resources Directors Commissionat the National Bank Federation (FENABAN) in 2000. These experiences provided him with extensive know-how regarding each aspect of the employment relationship, as well as expertise in labour law practice.

Mr Fornazari has a master’s in Labour Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC/SP), as well as a postgraduate degree in Human Resources Management from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV/SP). Moreover, he is a professor at the College of Law of Universidade Paulista (UNIP). Prior to this, he was professor at the Superior School of Advocacy of São Paulo Section of Brazilian Lawyers Order – OAB/SP, from 2005 to 2006.
