SKILLED MIGRANT CATEGORY POOL SELECTION
There have been three reported draws from the Skilled Migrant Category (SMC) Pool since our last newsletter. For all draws that took place on 21 August, 4 September, and 18 September, Expressions of Interest (EOI) claiming a minimum of 140 points were selected and invited to apply for New Zealand residence. In addition, all applications claiming a minimum of 100 points that also included a points claim for holding a current or offer of skilled employment were also selected from the Pool. No other EOI were selected.
The trend therefore continues in relation to a dual approach for successful residency under the SMC. An applicant is either going to need to demonstrate significant qualifications/experience in an area of absolute skill shortage, or alternatively obtain a full time offer of skilled employment before submitting an EOI into the SMC Pool.
