GvW Graf von Westphalen has advised the founders of IVARIO, the leading online platform for drinking water testing for end consumers, on its sale to the GBA Group.

The Hamburg based company which was founded by Saskia Gerber, Sascha Zielinski and Söhnke Mücke in 2013 operate Germany’s leading online platform for drinking water testing for end consumers under www.wassertest-online.de.  In addition to conventional drinking water tests, the product range today also includes a wide variety of tests of bacteria and other contaminants as well as water analyses. In the future, the range should continue to be expanded to cover further aspects in the fields of consumer and environmental protection.

The GBA Group is one of the leading laboratories and consulting service providers in Europe. Its core competencies are in the fields of environmental, food and pharmaceutical analysis. For the GBA Group and IVARIO, the transaction lays the cornerstone for the cooperative development of further online test services for private households in Germany and Western Europe.

Under the lead of Hamburg based partner Dr. Ritesh Rajani (Corporate/M&A), the shareholders of IVARIO were advised by a team consisting of Hamburg partners Dr. Christian Triebe (IP) and Dr. Malte Evers (Employment) as well as Associate Sven Erik Holm (IT/Data Protection, Frankfurt).
