INSOL Europe – High-Level Course on Insolvency Module

Stelios Americanos & Co LLC, participated at INSOL EUROPE 3-day seminar on Insolvency which took place atHilton Cyprus.

The conference was attended by many professionals including judges, state officials, bankers, law practitioners, accountants, auditors, financial advisors and insolvency practitioners and provided the possibility to the attendees to learn from experts various legal, company and business issues.

The course focused amongst others on the international standards and best comparative examples concerning the main elements of business restructuring and insolvency, on comparative examples of the systems existing in different jurisdictions as well as practical examples of cases and judicial decisions and on analyses of a selected number of especially relevant topics of the local insolvency system.

Mr. Morfakis P. Koumas and Mr. Christoforos Tsekouras, who participated for the law office of Stelios Americanos & Co LLC, have submitted their final work to the board, and the said work had been selected amongst others, as one of the best essays delivered, to be presented to the attendees of the course during the final stage. The said work concerned the following topic: “Systems of liability of directors in insolvency. A comparison between Cypriot law and 2 other EU legislations, with special regard to the causal link in directors’ liability for the insolvent company’s debts”.
