A Command Paper for a Bill on a New Companies
Act has been published in Gibraltar.
The Command paper is a final consultation step towards a new, consolidated and
revised Companies Act, which the Government has a manifesto commitment to
deliver.The Government stated the current Act required updating and
modernising to be internationally relevant.
The Government states the review involved consideration of proposals put
forward by the Company Law Reform Committee, set up by the Finance Centre
Council, which had also consulted with other professional bodies.

Trust Company was on the initial ATCOM sub-committee that planted the seed for
this act to be reviewed.
